At the beginning of 2025 I decided to create a swim podcast because I could find one that I wanted to listen to: one that featured different types of swimmers and not just the athletes (although they are very interesting too!). I decided to start with a couple of interviews and see how it went. Since then I’ve talked to dozens of swimmers, coaches, marine scientists, cold-water scientists and more. I’ve had swim history episodes and swim book and movie episodes. It’s been a privilege to talk to everyone.
Special guests include:
Marathon coach and English Channel Triple Crossing swimmer Phil Rush
Dan Abel from Fit & Abel
Outdoor Swimmer magazine’s founder Simon Griffiths and editor Ella Foote
US ultramarathon swimmer (the first woman to swim the Cook Strait in NZ and the first person to swim the Bering Strait, the Cape of Good Hope and the first ice mile in Antarctica) Lynne Cox
Wellington swim coach and community builder Barb Watson
Cold water scientist Dr Heather Massey
Shark scientist Dr Clinton Duffy
YogiFish director and Leigh swimmer Kaye Mueller
… and many others!
Listen to the podcast on Spotify (it’s free to listen), hit ‘follow’ so you’re notified when new episodes are published, please rate and review on Spotify/Apple so other people can discover it too, share it with some swim friends, and finally … help me to keep running the pod by becoming a Swim Buddy on Patreon! It’s just $NZ5 per month and you get some benefits (and good karma).
